The Genesis Joy Bus Experience

Likha Camera Club had its first club outing last Jan. 17, 2014.  Bound for Baguio city,
we had a choice of taking a regular Genesis Bus or this more expensive bus called the "Joy bus", with a difference of almost Php 200.00 from the regular fare, but the trip would only take 4 hours, I didn't mind the additional fare anymore as long as we could get to Baguio faster and start shooting.  Not to mention, your truly has had unpleasant experiences with long bus rides (Migraine Attacks).

Upon boarding the Joybus, we were surprised to see a limited seating capacity of only 28 people, this is a good thing since, I really dislike crowded buses.  The bus had "lazyboy" type seats with a blanket and then a stewardess started handing us refreshments.  It was like being on a plane.

Another plus was the Wifi on-board, LCD TVs and a restroom.  Now, the reason it only takes 4 hours to get to Baguio from its terminal at Deroteo Jose in Avenida, when it normally takes 6 hours, is that the bus has NO STOP OVERS!  All we had to do was literally lie down & sleep through the whole trip.  Upon reaching Baguio, we get a wake-up call from the Stewardess, and everybody wakes up as if we had just taken a power nap.

This is the first bus ride for me that was truly migraine free.  The extra fee difference paid off with comfort and time saved as the club will be studying the other destinations of the Joy Bus to include in our Out-of-Town photo shoot.
