At about 12 noon today, a loud crashing sound was heard by people along Plaza Cervantes street in Binondo. Stunned on-lookers watched as a portion of the old abandoned Banco Filipino Building between Philtrust Bank and Metro Bank fell, destroying several parked vehicles.
This happened one block away from my work place, so I went to check it out. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the damage to the vehicles looked irreparable. The biggest casualties were 2 cars and 1 pick-up truck, the car in the middle took the most damage.

oh my, how sad for the vehicle owners! that building is literally crumbling apart! i hope they cord it off. can they not just tear the whole building down if it is already dilapidated?... it would be saddest if there would be a next time and if there would be people that would get hurt... god forbid!
Binondo ran out of luck that day. Tsk. Too bad for the car owners. Nice shots with the destroyed cars, but you could have taken a better perspective of the building's facade. Just a friendly comment. Hehe.
nice scoop pre! sabi ko sayo pwede ka sa photo journalism eh! great shots dun sa mga damaged vehicles and the on-going clean-up. good thing na umaga ka nag-take ng shots, available lighting was superb kaya no problem kahit naka-auto setting ka. yes much better angle could have been achieved of the building pero kwidaw ka, you were in a danger zone at baka mag-collapse buong building, remember the previous one, right?

That's pretty scary if you are not on the look out always...
This is actually sad. The building is the Geronimo delos Reyes Building, designed by National Artist for Architecture Juan Nakpil. I also feel sorry for the people who parked their vehicles there.
